edu 2.0 passes the 9000 member mark
In the last two weeks, 1000 new members have joined edu 2.0, taking membership past the 9000 mark.
In addition:
- We added a virtual gift store where you can use earned points to buy presents for you and your friends
- You can now specify the maximum number of submissions for an assignment
- We added several shortcuts to streamline grading
- We added several options for what information is displayed in quiz results
- You can now register as the administrator for a school
- You can now register as a teacher for a school
- You can publish a resource so it can only be seen by members of a particular group
- A school administrator can see school-wide transcripts
- The gradebook is now simpler to use
- Inbox messages are now threaded
- It's easier to ignore messages from a particular user
- We added Safari support to our HTML editor
- 15,000+ educational web resources have been contributed by our community
- 1,300+ classes are now under development by teachers in our community
- 2,800+ teachers are registered members of the site.
- 5,600+ students are enrolled in classes hosted on our site
- 200+ debates have been used in classes
- 1,600+ photos have been uploaded for user photo albums
- 250+ interest groups have been created and over 2,300 members have joined these groups.
- 210,000+ messages have been exchanged between our members
- 48,000+ chat messages have been sent on our chat system
- 11,000+ postings have been made to forums
- Hundreds of minor enhancements were made.
We're currently working on voice/audio, as well as a virtual world where students can learn in a fun and immersive environment.
