class: mastering elementary math: k-8
This is a course in elementary math for children and adults age 5 +. Math concepts covered in grades K-8 are taught and learned in this class using techniques developed for use with those with learning disabilities in math (dyscalculia). Solutions are incorporated for the typical problems of: poor math memory, sequencing difficulty, directional confusion, deficits in visual-spatial awareness; mistakes in number reading, reciting, recall, writing, calculation, reasoning, and processing. Deep learning takes place and students are able to teach others, apply their knowledge, and use tools and adaptations to cope with their dyscalculic tendencies. Dyscalculic students learn how they learn and process information and are equipped to adequately perform mathematically in spite of their disabilities.
